This kitchen was completed in the Spring of 2013 for a family in Highland Green. In the Fall of 2012 I had finished the main floor of the house, and the kitchen was the final piece of the puzzle of transforming their new home. After a few samples and much research into the best options for this room, the owners decided to carry the theme of a beautiful off-white for the body of the cabinets, and then focus some attention on the island. The homeowner lent his carpentry skills to the island through the addition of frames with cove moulding and corbels, along with a nice base and shoe mould. Check out the before pictures to see what a difference these additions made. I took it from there with some distressing, chiseling, worm holes, and a rich toner stain to turn this island into a beautiful piece of cabinetry/furniture, and the jewel of this kitchen! In addition, my friend Jim King of Moonville Timber took a few of the cabinet doors and transformed them with the addition of mutton bars and glass, to add a nice finishing touch to the white cabinets. This kitchen took some time to complete, but in the end it is one of my favorite projects thus far.
